What is Field Day?: On Field Day, tens of thousands of Amateur Radio clubs in the USA demonstrate their ability to communicate world wide during an emergency. We do this by setting up a temporary radio station and having a cook-out. Non-club members are welcome to come and see what amateur radio is all about. We may even be able to get you on the air!
Our goal is to have fun while teaching people about Amateur Radio and making as many contacts as possible with other amateur radio stations. The public is encouraged to join us throughout the day! Please stop by for 15 minutes, or stay for the entire event; it’s up to you!
When: Field Day is always the 4th full weekend in June. This year it is June 22nd and 23rd. Setup starts at 10am on June 22nd. We will activate our radios at 13:00 CST sharp! We usually have a picnic from approximately 4pm – 5pm. We don’t plan to operate on the 23rd, but if anyone wants to, they sure can!
Where: The SCVRA will be hosting Field Day at at Prospect Park in Hudson, Wisconsin.
